Courtney's grandma is the secretary/treasure for the OU Women's Basketball Booster Club and she signed her up to be a ball girl for two of the games. Courtney was so excited. And, honestly, it was a proud moment for this momma seeing my girl out on the floor at the game.

Fun with the Pioneer Woman
Tuesday night I had the opportunity to go to see Ree Drummond, the pioneer woman! It was her first book signing on her tour.
It was a crazy night! It was very crowded with lots of women who love the pioneer woman. When we arrived a hour and 15 minutes early there was already a line!
I’m glad we got there when we did because they did sell out of her cookbook, which is awesome by the way!
I went with my good friend Jen and we had a fun time. Here we are waiting in line.
Once inside the craziness began! Jen and I quickly grabbed two chairs to save. Then split and she went to get our free t-shirts and I went to get in line to purchase our cookbooks.
We went back to our seats and waited patiently for Ree to make her appearance. Everyone was so excited when she and her husband, the Marlboro Man, walked in the door! Lots of screams and flashes from cameras!
Before doing the book signings she had a question and answer time. That was fun and she showed she is a humble, funny and REAL person!
Then the true madness began! Everyone THOUGHT they could just run to the front and make a line (or not) and get her autograph. BUT, they actually stopped the madness (somewhat) and went by seated sections. And, guess what? Our section was the first to go up. That doesn’t mean it went fast though. Everyone that went up I think needed to share their life story with her and take lots of pictures. It was SLOW MOVING! It took us about an hour to get up to her. I hope they learned a lot at this first signing to move things along faster for future signings. She really needed someone (like her publisher) there to shut people up and get moving! Ha! Some people didn’t get out of there till really late. We were out about 8:30. (We got there at 5:45!)
There was one gal in particular that thought she could break the “line rules.” She tried one way to cut and the guy made her go back. Then she found another way to cut in and he tried to get her to move and she didn’t. Sooooo…. what would a good blogger do??? I took pictures of her! LOL!
AND, she didn’t even buy a freaking cookbook for her to sign. So, you are wondering what on earth was she cutting in line for? She had her sign her freaking BOOT!!! If I had been Ree or the people at the Tulsa Historical Society and I would have told her a big, fat NO!
One of the most touching moments of the night was when she introduced her brother Mike. He came and spoke for a few minutes. When he looked up at her and said he loved her very much I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. She truly has a lovely, very supportive family. It was nice seeing them all in person.

Kim and Liz (Kim is Courtney’s teacher that we just LOVE!!!)
Ree and her brother Mike
It’s almost our turn to move up to THE line! Woot!
Ree signing a book while Mike holds up a t-shirt.
Hometown girls!
One last picture of HER! LOL!
Maybe it’s the teacher in me, but I can’t stand ‘cutters.’
Even with all the madness it truly was great to meet the Pioneer Woman. Now, if only I could win one of her awesome giveaways!

Costume Party
There was some very festive foods at the house of Baloney. They were a big hit. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the radish/olive eyeballs. Hilarious. But, the most talked about was the “kitty litter!” It actually tasted quite scrumptious. I will get the recipe and then share it with you.
My best buddy in all the world and her husband came too. They were dressed as vampires. They looked awesome. Brett and I are going to buy costumes like theirs (in a different color) just so we can all go out in them. We don’t even care if it’s Halloween or not! Haha! I mean, it’s COOL to be a vampire now days thanks to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. Just think of the looks we’ll get if we were them in say, February or May?!?
There was a contest for best female/male costume. Best female was the girl dressed as Octo-Mom. Hilarious!!! And, the best guy costume was a guy dressed as Lieutenant Dangle from Reno 911. He totally fit that part. You couldn’t help but laugh when you looked at him.
Everyone had on great costumes. I was very impressed with how creative people got. There was even a Chucky and Bride of Chucky who was carrying the seed of Chucky!!! LOL!
I hope you enjoy the pictures! I’m looking forward to seeing your Halloween pictures over the next couple of weeks.

Flashback Friday
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Flashback Friday. I finally found some pictures I want to share. Being at my daughter’s school this morning kind of made me miss teaching. So today I’m going to share some pictures from my classrooms over the years. I taught kindergarten and first grade off and on. I loved teaching and I loved decorating my classroom! So much fun!
Johnny Appleseed that I made!
Five little reindeer singing a reindeer song!
(I was pregnant with Courtney in this picture. This is when I taught kdg. in Edmond, OK. It was December of 1997.)
Christmas was always fun in the classroom especially when I taught at a Christian school and we could celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
I wish I could have found a picture of the whole barn I made. It had hay and a hen. I loved it. It took hours to make!
My little farmers!
I took an old bathtub and painted it like a watermelon and made it my listening center. Every year it was always a big hit! The kids loved it. And, of course, it was so darn cute!

Friend Makin’ Monday
I’m almost too late for Friend Makin’ Monday! Oops!
Today’s topic is What Makes You Happy?
There are many things that make me happy. It’s the small things that mean the most; like a hug and kiss from my girls, hearing I love you from them or my husband, hearing their laughter, etc.
But, everyone loves a blog post that has pictures so I have a few for you. See, I’m sweet like that! =)
Things that make me happy ~
A random love note left by my awesome husband.

Coffee – real coffee, not that frufru stuff. I like it black. I want my coffee to taste like COFFEE!! On occasion I will get a skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks or a skinny pumpkin spice latte. But, even then I will have had my black coffee first!
Tyler candles – my favorite two scents are High Maintenance and Pineapple Crush
Reading
& then there’s reading and looking at my Twilight books! Ha!Ha! They do look lovely on my shelf, don’t they?
I hope you enjoyed seeing a few of the things that make me happy!
